meeting profiling and analysis

Watching a meeting online only gives you a fraction of the picture.

By attending a meeting in-person we can analyse everything from the layout of the room, the interactions between members and officers, how the members reach decisions and lines of questioning. The more meetings we analyse (we recommend at least three), the more accurate a picture builds up.

VDK Research ensures that there are as few surprises as possible and how to pitch presentations for the all-important meeting.

the challenge

An agency had a client with a very significant planning application heading to committee a few months later and wanted to build up a meaningful understanding of how the committee works to maximise the chances of success.

the approach

VDK Research attended four committee meetings to analyse how the committee approaches applications, likely lines of questioning and how members and officers work together.

the outcome

The end client was fully briefed on all likely lines of questioning, addressed potentially difficult issues from the outset and succeeded in winning approval against the odds.

“the analysis meant We were able to identify issues that were likely to come up and address them before we even reached the committee meeting”

“understanding how the relationship between officers and committee members works in the actual meeting was something we would never have understood just by watching meetings online.”
