Frequently Asked Questions

What is VDK Research?
VDK Research is a Lincolnshire based market research company specialising in qualitative research.

Why are you contacting me?
VDK Research will have contacted you because we or a client will have identified you as someone valuable to our work, for example, you may have a known interest in a particular field that we are researching through your job, voluntary activity, community work or place of work or residency.

How did VDK Research get my contact details?
In most cases VDK Research is supplied with contact details by our client and these contact details are in the public domain. If you do not wish to be contacted using these details please let us know. We will no longer use that method to contact you and we will inform our client as such.

Who are your clients?
We conduct research on behalf of a wide variety of clients such as non-governmental organisations, charities, public sector organisations, private sector organisations and individuals. When we conduct research for a client on behalf of one of their clients, we may not know who the end client is. In accordance with MRS guidelines we do not disclose the names of our clients without their explicit agreement.

Are my responses to your research confidential?
We will anonymise all responses to our research – your name, job title, demographics or any other identifiable feature will not be revealed to our client in any report.

What do you want me to say, what information are you trying to get out of me?
As we specialise in qualitative research we simply want your views and perspective. There are no “trick questions” and no right or wrong answers. We fully understand that you will not always be able to give us detailed answers with facts, figures and numbers.

What research methods do you use?
To ensure we get the best possible knowledge we may conduct research using a range of methods such as face to face surveys and meetings, telephone surveys and interviews, online surveys and focus groups.

What do you do with my information during the research project?
Protect it. Your privacy is important to us, and we will do everything in our power to protect it. As all our researchers are members of the Market Research Society, we strictly adhere to their code of conduct which includes the Data Protection Act, 1998 and GDPR 2018.

What do you do with my information after the research project?
After we have anonymised all responses and reported back to our clients we will destroy all raw material. This includes deleting all communication between researchers and participants such as e-mails, voicemails, letters and so forth. Your personal data will be deleted promptly/immediately. In the event that we need to contact you with regard to a different client or project we will start the research afresh.

VISIT THE CLUB
VDK Research is proud to support the University of York Women's Rugby Union Football Club for the fourth year in a row. The club is York's most successful sports club ever, with the first team competing in the Northern Tier 1 division and the second team competing in Northern 3B division in 2023-24. The club wins awards every year for its performances on the pitch and culture and spirit off it.

While the first team includes players who go on to play for Premiership Women's Rugby teams the club more widely has an outstanding track record of developing players that are new to the game, providing an experience of sport and university that lasts a lifetime.

Thanks to people agreeing to take part in our work, VDK Research has bought the club new rugby-specific training equipment like training balls, cones, kicking tees and tackle shields as well as more general strength, conditioning and athletic equipment.
